Workshop Description

The 33rd annual Workshop of the Austrian Association for Pattern Recognition (OAGM/AAPR) provides a platform bringing together researchers for discussing traditional and new areas of the computer vision discipline. It is organized in workshop form presenting the latest work of Austrian and international institutes in the domain of computer vision and pattern recognition.

This year's main topic is Visual Learning, which has become a major topic in computer vision. For instance, the seminal work of Viola and Jones on Boosting for Feature Selection is on the most cited works in the computer vision community. Thus, there is a considerable interest in developing new methods and in extending existing learning methods. In particular, hot research topics include the relevance of discriminative and generative representations, on-line learning, or unsupervised learning strategies. This year the OAGM'09 is organized by the Institute of Computer Graphics and Vision, Graz University of Technology.

According to the reviews 23 out of 39 papers (acceptance rate 58,97%) were selected for presentation at the 33rd AAPR Workshop 2009. For a list of accepted paper see here.

The workshop's topics include but are not limited to:
  • Computer Vision
  • Image Analysis
  • Pattern Recognition
  • 3D Vision
  • Cognitive Vision
  • Applications
